#Hypoalbuminemia is associated with increased risk of acute #kidney injury in hospitalized patients: A meta-analysis

• Each 1.0 g/dL of serum albumin decrement was associated with increased odds of AKI (OR 1.685; 95% CI, 1.302–2.179).

• The risk factors for AKI in hypoalbuminemic patients include 1) age ≥ 70 years and 2) baseline serum albumin level > 3.2 g/dL.

• The association between hypoalbuminemia and overall mortality from AKI remained inconclusive as there was potential publication bias.
